I read this quote sometime ago from a friend's msn message. I cant help but agree with it. This seems especially true and applicable in the current society and of course, the Internet.
Everyone loves the anonymity online. You can ask questions without looking stupid, you can post about your fantasies, you can rant about practically anything under a pseudonym.
I've always tried to be truthful with people I know, but this certainly does not seem the case with everybody else. Most of the time, it does not pay to be earnest. There are people who can lie with a straight face and Im convinced that I will not probe further even if I have doubts.
Most of the people I encounter are not keen to give you a glimpse into their lives... well simply because Im just another stranger they know by name.
So be it, Im not about to try to pry. To be honest, no one ever gets used to indifference, though I'm slowly beginning to understand for some people, you just learn to live with it.
